Yeniköy’s Greek community is once again transforming the traditional mid-August celebration of the Virgin Mary into a month-long cultural event. The eighth edition of the Theotokia Cultural Festival, organized by the Yeniköy Panayia Greek Orthodox Church and School Foundation, offers a rich line-up of concerts, exhibitions, and talks. This year’s highlights include a nostalgic music soirée dedicated to Greek singers and composers of the shellac record era, a Black Sea night, and a guided boat tour meandering from Istinye to the Bosphorus’ other storied villages. Expect one of the season’s most soulful respites.
